Our dried silkworm pupae not only provides much needed chitin, they are also high in necessary proteins and lipids/fats. Dusting the pupae with powdered foods is also a great way to provide a tasty treat! We work with a small US based silkworm cultivator to procure our pupae. They are then processed with a low heat method that provides maximum nutrient retention. If feeding in combination with other foods, you can likely use less. NO PRODUCTS UNDERGO CHEMICAL PROCESSING OR PRESERVATION. **A word of caution for those sensitive to smell--all of our items have undergone minimal processing to ensure the integrity of nutrients. Since our items are not highly processed, they retain their natural scents. For example, fish based foods will smell like fish.** All products can be safely stored for up to two years in a cool, dark location in properly sealed containers.
