Chilean Rose Hair Tarantula (Grammostola rosea RCF, Red Color Form) - the original beginner tarantula, a dusty rose-and-grey terrestrial from the Atacama-edge scrub of Chile. Adults reach about 5-6 inches across; females are very long-lived (routinely 20+, reportedly 30+ years), males roughly 4-6. Care basics: keep the substrate bone-dry with a full water dish (no misting needed), give a low enclosure, cork-bark hide, and floor space, variable temperament (usually calm but will kick urticating hairs when annoyed, can flip moods between molts, not a handling pet), fasting for weeks or months is completely normal.
