They come fully sheet mossed half sheet mossed or no moss at all depending on what you’re looking to use them for. We use our corrugated Reptile Hides in all our display, quarantine, breeding, tropical semi tropical, and desert set ups.You can mount them above in the canopy top level, mid-level, floor level or dug under sand and or your soil level for a full cave like and or tunnel system using them in any way will give your reptile a piece of mind a place to sleep and or some sort of security or just being able to get away and hide in a dark area. Believe it or not one main reason reptiles do not thrive in captivity is stress the stress lowers their immune system causing them to get sick, letting internal external and or stress related not eating issues to take president resulting in overall bad health eventually leading to death or a huge vet bill. We have never had a Reptile not use our hides in some way form or fashion in the back half of my 20 plus year breeding career. Snakes large medium and small or small and medium frog’s geckos’ lizards and desert dwellers and this goes for invertebrates as well. Not for heavy bodied 12 FT plus snakes or giant 6 FT plus monitor lizards basically the big boys. If it cannot fit in a 4-inch diameter opening about the size of a softball, it’s a no go. Why use our Corrugated hides over typical hide boxes- So I have personally tried the square reptile hides coconut versions and a few others for all sorts of reptiles and in most cases they just did not take to them I personally just believe it did not give them the security they were after and or at times moisture problems resulting in mold and other issues and in this time when putting the option in the cages all the reptiles always took to the corrugated versions over all else. Fully sheet mossed version- Our fully sheet mossed version gives your high humidity full tropical or sub-tropical terrarium a full natural look with the moss retaining moisture keeping your humidity levels high as well as vining plants with climbing aerial roots somewhere to grab on and do their job creating that all-natural jungle look us hobbits strive for in our terrarium eco habitats. The fully mossed version is best used for mounting in the canopy or mid-level canopy areas but can be used on the floor level. These give your arboreal reptiles or invertebrates a place to escape and or sleep or just hang out. Half sheet mossed version- Our half sheet mossed version is more for your sub-tropical and lower tropical set ups but can be used in high humidity full tropical set ups they help with humidity still give it that natural look and give vines a place to lock on and climb it can be half dug in substrate giving that cave like hiding area for ground dwellers it can also be mounted up in the canopy and mid-level canopy as well. These give your arboreal reptiles or invertebrates a place to escape and or just hang out. un mossed version – These ones are more for underground dug in cave like systems and Quarantine bins or cages. They can be used in desert, subtropical, and tropical set up or a 100% non-contaminate quarantine cage to monitor but give that quarantine animal a place to escape or hide which is crucial for the first 30-60 days. We leave it up to you to figure out how you want to mount or display the hide whether you use it above or below. We tried suction cups which do not last start to slip and actually give out over time and are horrible to use. We tried magnets which do not work as well they rip through screen can break glass start to slip and how healthy is it for your animal and eco soil and or environment or water run off if ingested by your plants or herp or invertebrates in the long run. We use large zip ties to mount the hides which will be included with the hide you ordered. This makes it so it can easily be removed cleaned or moved in the cage. Just cut the zip tie do whatever necessary and re zip tie in to replace and boom done this is for semi and top canopy use. You can also weave vines to hold in place or glue silicone it for a more permeant bond.Pictures will be available for examples of usages.
